World Kindness Day- November 13

With so much craziness and uncertainty we’ve undergone this whole year, let’s look forward to something worth celebrating. World Kindness Day is on November, 13, and why not just one day? Let’s make it a tradition for the year!

What is World Kindness Day?

A day that highlights good deeds in the community and focusing on the positive power of kindness. Kindness brings together the divides of race, politics, religion, gender, and zip codes.

This day was first introduced as a day of observation by the World Kindness Movement. In 2019, the organization was registered as an official NGO under Swiss law, but the history of the group stretches back to a Tokyo-based convention in 1997.

World Kindness Day Activities

Random Acts of Kindness- There are so many ways that you can practice random acts of kindness. From small gestures such as opening the door for someone to larger efforts such as: buying a gift for a child in foster care, collect litter in your community, leave positive messages around the neighborhood. Neighborly Love- From offering to run an errand or getting groceries for your neighbor or just checking in with them each week, you can demonstrate neighborly love in many ways.

Volunteer or Donate- You can volunteer your time at various non-profits or shelters. You can also donate goods or money to these places and help others.

Wrapping It Up

This year especially, plan to observe (and join in) World Kindness Day. Now more than ever we need to join together in our communities and help each other and others in need. You never know how you may touch someone’s life by simply doing something that you don’t even think is a big deal. It could mean the world to someone else.
